The Placer County Public Guardian is responsible for minor maintenance of client’s homes.  To support this requirement, the County is soliciting competitive quotes for “handyman” services to be provided on an as-needed basis for private residences for clients who qualify.  Services may include minor repair, installation, modification, or replacement of plumbing, electrical, home security, windows, doors, fences, gates, as well as junk and trash removal, landscaping, and general carpentry repair.  

This solicitation will result the selection of one or more firms (“Contractors”), to be utilized on an as-needed basis.  The County will solicit quotes from multiple Contractors and assign work based on availability, urgency of repair, total cost estimate, or other factors affecting the completion of the work.  The selected Contractors shall possess the following minimum qualifications:   California Contractor’s License, Class B General Building Contractor; OR 
a combination of C-10 Electrical, C-36 Plumbing, C-9 Drywall, C-61 Limited Specialty with appropriate endorsements for all work described herein.  

This work is subject to the payment of not less than Prevailing Wages as determined by the State of California Department of Industrial Relations.  shall be required.

The total annual cost for this work is estimated to be $50,000 however the County shall not be obligated to assign a minimum or maximum amount of work during any specific period.  Each individual work assignment must not exceed $4,000 each under any circumstances.
