Placer County is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified firms to provide professional services to develop and implement a Local Roadway Safety Plan. 

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to select a qualified consultant to develop a Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP) and incorporate the current Traffic Accident analysis System (TAAS), originally adopted in 2009.  The LRSP will serve to enhance safety throughout the County’s roadway network. It will serve as a tool to help the County’s staff to identify roadway segments and intersections in the County that may need safety improvements. The County’s engineering staff can then target these locations for detailed engineering investigations to determine what, if any, improvements should be implemented.  Additionally, the LRSP will include a detail public education and coordination effort with outside agencies such as CHP, Sheriff’s Department, schools, fire, ambulance and more to continue to promote and elevate safety as a community priority. 

The project requires a range of consultant services including, but not limited to: transportation planning and traffic engineering, traffic operations, project management, partner coordination and public outreach.
